Revolutionary DMV-based Hip-Hop artist, Jastin Artis, fuses Gospel, acoustic and electric guitars, and Spoken word to own his lane in Hip-Hop music. 

Jastin has committed the last 18 years to cultivate his craft, learning the music business, pioneering his own genre titled Hip-Hop Renaissance, booking his own shows, creating content for sync licensing, and consistently releasing original content. 

In March 2019, Jastin lost his youngest son and then was laid-off from his writing contracting role after getting the requested time off to grieve. These losses forced him to leave the corporate world behind to commit more to music as he quickly realized he had to ditch the script. 

Over the years, he has independently self-released eight albums and set to release his ninth and tenth with “Love in Darkness I and II” with "Love in Darkness I" releasing on March 12, 2021. 

He shares relatable life experiences in his music, from losing his child, Jamis, going through a heartbreaking divorce, being alienated from his eldest son, Jace, navigating the loss of jobs, chronic health issues, and finding joy and love again. “Love in Darkness I and II” are no different. 

“Love in Darkness I” is a positive, spiritual, and authentic representation of the Hip-Hop Renaissance sound and vulnerability fans can connect to. The album explores love from many angles that’s not only partnerships but grief, self-love, fatherhood, and ultimately, loving in darkness. 

Jastin’s desire to do a crowdfund is to help support the cost to create and distribute his powerful work of art to the masses. He believes this project will change lives but it will take a village of investments. He is hoping to raise $8,000 to help cover his artistic, production, marketing/promotion/PR costs, and raise funds for The Initial Song Offering to allow fans to share royalty rights for songs from the album through the company, Vezt. This lets fans participate in the revenue with the songs they love.   

Crowdfunding perks include donations, merchandise, private Zoom, pre-order the album, Vezt investment, and private virtual concert. Hear the first single "This Black Skin"; an uplifting song full of Black pride as Jastin encourages listeners to sing "I'm Black and I love it." The next single, "Can't Do Without Love (CDWL)," is a vulnerable love song telling fans, "you can't do without love." Fans can pre-save "CDWL" before the 3.26.21 release.
